Windows 7 retail and upgrade installation discs are designed to particularly install a specific edition of Windows 7. A consumer who wishes to upgrade to Windows 7 can only upgrade to that edition written in the installation disc. Setup no longer asks the user which edition he wants to install. Lots of enthusiasts search the web on how to create an installation disc where all editions and architecture (32bit and 64bit) are available during setup.
Is it really possible to create one?
Yes. There a few simple steps to create a universal installation disc. Deleting ei.cfg from the installation disc does the trick. Although this part is a bit tricky and risky. The installer required on this method is the ISO file. One way to do this is to unpack the ISO file to your computer hard drive, delete the ei.cfg file then repack to ISO file again. And that is the tricky part. However, Windows 7 buffs made it simple for us. They designed a file automation program that will automatically inject the process to an ISO file without unpacking the whole ISO file.
The ei.cfg Removal Utility does not remove the file itself; it tells the ISO file to ignore ei.cfg and displays the entire edition available. Just make sure that you will this process with precaution and make sure your battery is full.
