Windows 7 Drivers

Hardware drivers has been a pain in the past during the legacy OS specially if you have a separate video card and some devices like printer.  We usually install the software that came with out device CD which contains the driver for our hardware device, well not anymore in windows 7.

Windows 7 came with native drivers inside the installer disc which came with a 32bit and 64bit.  What windows 7 did just in case no drivers where found is they compiled all the drivers of known NIC or Network Interface Card embed on the disc so once installed, it can automatically connect to the Internet.  Why is that so?

Previous OS or legacy OS have this automatic search drivers online which was not that reliable before but windows 7 made it useful.
