Windows XP                             Windows 7

Windows Vista                             Windows 7

Wouldn’t you prefer switching to Windows 7 without having to back-up your important files, re-install the programs you use, and being able to keep your computer settings? It saves time and all the hassle. You might have some programs or applications installed for you and this means trouble if you don’t have the installation disc.

Keeping them intact is possible while you switch to Windows 7 if you do in-place upgrade. The current version of the OS is taken into consideration. Since there is what we call ‘upgrade paths’ to Windows 7.

Another thing is the specifications of your computer system. There are system requirements for Windows 7 to run on your computer.
